"When we broke up, I had a decision to make. Change the name? Walk away? Instead, I went to Tokyo alone."

My name is Tee. I'm the founder — and right now, the whole team — behind Married to Adventure Tours.
This company started as something else entirely. It started as a shared dream between two people who were in love with each other and with the world. We'd travel for birthdays, anniversaries, any excuse. We started this business together. The name Married to Adventure made sense then.
Then life happened. The relationship ended. And I was left standing with a company named after a partnership that no longer existed.
I had a decision to make. Change the name? Shut it down? Walk away from the whole thing?
Instead, I booked a flight to Tokyo. Alone.
I didn't know what I was looking for when I got on that plane. I just knew I needed to move. What I found in Tokyo surprised me. I found that traveling alone isn't lonely — it's clarifying. I found a ramen shop at 2am that I never would have found with someone else. I sat at the counter by myself and had the best meal of my life. I stood at the summit of Mount Fuji and felt something shift.
I came home and I knew what this company was supposed to be.
Now I build trips for people who are done putting off the trip. For solo travelers who are tired of waiting for someone to say yes. For friend groups stuck in a group chat going nowhere. For anyone who knows that the trip they keep putting off is the one that would change them.
The name stayed. And now it means something different. Adventure isn't something you share with one person. It's something you carry with you — solo, in groups, across time zones and oceans and mountains.
